We bring talent to the next level!

AstroTurf is always willing to go the extra mile for the athletes.
And as we believe in talent development, we love to support young players on their
road to becoming a star! One of them is Dutch Women’s National Team U19 player Kerstin Casparij.
She is also playing for the first women’s team of v.v. Alkmaar, taking part in the Women’s Eredivisie.

Kerstin’s Player Profile:

Number:
10
Date of birth: 19/8/2000
Position: Attacking Midfielder
Previous Clubs: SC Heerenveen

I am Kerstin Casparij, 17 years old and I started my first season at v.v. Alkmaar last summer. I used to play for sc Heerenveen Women the two seasons before. But I’m still very happy with the transfer to v.v. Alkmaar!

Besides v.v. Alkmaar, I also play for the Dutch Women’s National Team U19 this season. Our common goal is to qualify for the European Championship in the summer of 2018. Last summer I played the European Championship in the Czech Republic with the Dutch National Team U17. We reached the semi-final which was a unique achievement for this age category. So far I have been playing in all representing national youth teams of the KNVB.

My goal in the short term is to get myself a position in the team and to further develop myself. In time I want to become one of the leading players of the team. Furthermore, as a team we aim to go for the top five, to end up in the winner pool. Another team goal is winning the KNVB Cup!

On the field I am a box-to-box player who wants to play the passing game. I can also can score goals or bring others in position to score.

I have been playing soccer since I was seven years old. I started playing in the backyard with friends and especially with my two younger brothers. I have been playing soccer with the boys until I was fifteen. After that I made the switch to women’s soccer.

I study legal administrative assistant at Horizon College in Alkmaar. The next half year I will do an internship at Visie Advocaten in Alkmaar. After this study I hope to follow the course Management, Economics and Law (EIA) at HBO level.

I want to ask as many (young) girls and fans of Alkmaar as possible to encourage us in all competitions, but of course especially at the home games of v.v. Alkmaar. I hope to see you there!
