We bring talent to the next level!
AstroTurf is always willing to go the extra mile for the athletes.
And as we believe in talent development, we love to support young players on their
road to becoming a star! One of them is Dutch Women’s National Team U19 player Kerstin Casparij.
She is also playing for the first women’s team of SC Heerenveen, taking part in the Women’s Eredivisie.
Kerstin’s Player Profile:
Date of birth: 19/8/2000
Position: Attacking Midfielder
Previous Clubs: SC Heerenveen, VV Alkmaar
I am Kerstin Casparij, 19 years old and I started my fifth season at SC Heerenveen in the Women’s Eredivisie, the first national women’s league. I also play for the Dutch Women’s National Team U19. I played over 25 matches, mostly as attacking midfielder and I scores about 10 goals. Our common goal is to qualify for the World Championship Women under 20 in 2020. In 2017, I played the European Championship in the Czech Republic with the Dutch National Team U17. We reached the semi-final which was a unique achievement for this age category. So far I have been playing in all representing national youth teams of the KNVB. Last year with the under 19’s, we missed the semi with one goal.
My goal in the short term is to get myself a position in the team and to further develop myself. In time I want to become one of the leading players of the team. Furthermore, as a team we aim to go for the top four, to end up in the winner pool. Another team goal is winning the KNVB Cup!
On the field I am a box-to-box player who wants to play the passing game. I can also score goals or bring others in position to score and defense. I am an all-round player, sometimes I play on the back or defensive midfielder, but I play as an offensive midfielder or striker as well. I like to play at different positions, just what is necessary.
I have been playing soccer since I was seven years old. I started playing in the backyard with friends and especially with my two younger brothers. I have been playing soccer with the boys until I was fifteen. After that I made the switch to women’s soccer.
I study legal administrative assistant at Friesland College in Heerenveen. The next half year I will graduate and work at Adrenna Advocaten in Leeuwarden. After this study I hope to follow the course Management, Economics and Law (EIA) at HBO level.
I want to ask as many (young) girls and fans of Heerenveen as possible to encourage us in all competitions, but of course especially at the home games of Heerenveen. I hope to see you there!
