Originating in Mexico 1969, Padel quickly spread to the South American countries of Chile and Paraguay. It was in 1970s in Argentina where it expanded massively and in the last decade it has found its way to Europe and has become the fastest growing racket sport in the world.
Padel is a fun, social and easy to play game that is a mix of tennis and squash and is only played in doubles. A padel court is approximately a half the size of a tennis court and is surrounded on all sides by glass and meshed panels. As with tennis, the court is divided into two halves and played with tennis balls. The rackets though, are specially designed just for padel.
Padel is an interesting sport option that can help tennis clubs and leisure centers differentiate themselves from their counterparts.
